A couple weekends ago I got to have such a fun photo shoot with my daughter at Power & Light District in Kansas City, and she killed it! She stepped out in her pink homecoming dress and the colors were perfect. The light was bouncing off her like magic. The streets were glowing, she was glowing, and I was just trying to keep up with capturing it all.
We wandered around and found some pretty flowers tucked between the buildings. It was such a sweet contrast from the city vibe. She’s heading into her freshman year of high school, so this photo session was extra special for me, being her momma! Also, kudos to her toughing it out in those heels!
Once the sun went down, the city lights came alive, and Power & Light totally delivered. Neon signs, string lights, that buzzing downtown energy—it gave us the city backdrop she really wanted. Even though it was ridiculously hot and humid (thanks, KC summer), we laughed through it and kept finding little hidden spots that turned into perfect photo backdrops.
Kansas City really does have some of the best spots for pictures, and this night was proof- golden hour AND the city lights, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off her freshman year and first Homecoming!
